The Student Guide to NEA explains to students the importance of intellectual property and what might happen if plagiarism is detected. We recommend that centres have a clear policy in plagiarism and the use of AI that is shared with students regularly. Students and Teachers will need to sign Centre and Candidate Authentication forms to declare that all the work they are submitting is their own, except where it is appropriately referenced.
Our Moderators would prefer to see in-text citations. This could be in the form of a reference number and a reference list, or a hyperlink to a webpage, with the date accessed. Our Guide to Referencing provides useful support for students, and our candidate style work for teachers exemplifies a range of different styles of referencing which would be acceptable. Moderators reviewing the work should be able to see which sources were used by students to inform their research and ideas.
