There isn’t a ‘set’ number of other texts that we’re looking for, especially as assessors are not asked to keep count of these references because they are assessing the quality not quantity of those references. It is more important that whatever wider reading is done is brought to bear meaningfully on the task and that the student is clearly working with a good understanding of the genre they are studying. So again, the emphasis is on the quality and relevance those references have within the response itself, rather than the volume of references.
