For both Applied Science and Human Biology, we have currently planned the following sessions:
- Starting to Teach – an introduction to the qualification, with an overview of the content and assessment as well as some tips on how to deliver the course
- Ask the Subject Advisor – an opportunity to meet with your subject advisors and ask them questions you have about delivering the course. Do come to these sessions with questions as they are a Q&A
- Preparing for the NEA – work through a candidate style piece of work and practice your marking with guidance from the trainer. A chance to familiarise yourself with the assessment criteria and gain guidance on why marks are or are not gained in the candidate style work
- Preparing for the Exam – a chance to familiarise yourself with the assessment criteria for our examined assessments. Practice your marking using candidate style answers and gain an understanding of why marks are or are not gained for particular answers.
Courses to follow over the coming year:
- Exam Review – a chance to review how students performed in exam series, looking at common mistakes and areas of strength.
- Exploring the moderated units – a chance to review how students performed in the NEA units, looking at common mistakes and areas of strength.
- Enhancing your Teaching – a course focused on a particular topic or skill area, looking at both teaching and learning as well as assessment techniques.
Teachers can find out more information about these via Teach Cambridge for Applied Science and Human Biology and our website.
