We took great care when developing this qualification to deliver a paper that could be delivered through a constant approach. As you would expect in any exam there will always be the slightly unexpected questions and you won’t be able to predict exactly what content is going to be assessed, but what you can be sure of with this qualification is that the exam will follow the same structure year on year.
So what does this structure look like?
Section A:
Q1 Product Analysis
Q2 Mathematical Skills focus (not exclusively Maths, or only location for Maths, but main focus)
Q3 Electronics, mechanics, new technologies and/or general wider issues
Section B: (These questions will always be in relation to the situational context)
Q4 Ensures fair coverage of core content relating to all in-depth areas is covered in the paper
Q5 Making, manufacturing processes at different stages of design/manufacture (related to chosen in-depth product)
Q6 Deeper understanding of wider issues connected to in-depth learning (responding to the same product chosen for Question 5)
