GCSE Geography A: How much time should I spend writing up the fieldwork with the students?

We have not given a recommendation for the amount of time students should spend writing up their fieldwork so it is up to you as the teacher in terms of how much time you have available to spend completing this. This is not a controlled assessment and so there is a lot of flexibility with regard to how students ‘write this up’. You may decide that students can complete it on a PowerPoint or an A3 poster where they can include a number of data presentation techniques and then draw out the patterns in their data / information as part of their analysis.

I would suggest you refer to the geographical skills list in the specifications for ideas about the graphs, charts, maps as well as numerical and statistical skills that students could include.
