The DfE has determined which sports are allowed for GCSE and for A Level, the only exception is for disability:
GCSE – must complete one team, one individual and one free choice. GCSE is performance only – no more coaching or officiating
All skills criteria are contained within the guide to NEA. All activities are broken down into three parts – core skills, advanced skills and decision making.
All activities are marked using the one grid – found in section 2b.2 of the GCSE guide to NEA
The list of allowed sports is prescribed by the DfE and is the same for all awarding bodies.
