Cambridge Technicals in Art and Design Level 2: Delivery in Northern Ireland

LEVEL 2 CAMBRIDGE TECHNICALS IN ART AND DESIGN (2012) 

Available in Northern Ireland

• Where a qualification is listed as available in Northern Ireland, you must also check that it is available for use in Schools before delivery in this setting. 
• Where a qualification is listed as not available in Northern Ireland, it cannot be delivered in any setting in Northern Ireland.

Approved for use in Schools

• Where a qualification is listed as approved in use for schools, you must check the latest NEIFQAN file before delivery
• Where a qualification is listed as not approved in use for schools but available in Northern Ireland, you must submit a request to the Department for Education for approval before starting delivery. Please see DE Circular 2025/01 for more details on this process. 

Where approved for schools, Cambridge Technicals can only be offered to students 16+. They cannot be delivered to KS4 students.

Level 2 qualifications approved for use in schools are not counted for school performance measures. Please see DE Circular 2025/01 for more information:

"25. A number of Level 2 qualifications suitable for post-16 candidates only are currently included in the NIEFQAN File and schools may deliver these as enrichment courses to post 16 pupils, however, these qualifications are not approved for use with KS4 cohorts. Schools must therefore check that any qualification they intend to offer is age appropriate for their particular cohort; this will be stated on the qualification specification. These qualifications will not be counted for the purpose of school performance measures."
