For the autumn 2020 series, Ofqual has confirmed that a full suite of exams will be offered for A and AS Level and GCSE, with non exam-assessment for Art and Design only.
- Entries – These will be limited to students who had entered for the summer series and to students who the awarding body believes had intended to enter.
- Results dates – We're planning to issue results for AS and A Levels before Christmas 2020 and results for GCSEs in early 2021. The dates are now available here.
- Certificates – Replacement certificates showing the higher of any summer and autumn grades will be available for students who request them.
- Appeals – Normal review of marking and appeal arrangements apply to the autumn series.
What are the entry deadlines for autumn 2020?
The entry deadlines are:
- AS and A Level, Core Maths – 4 September
- GCSE (except English Language and Mathematics) – 18 September
- GCSE (English Language and Mathematics) – 4 October.
When is the autumn 2020 series taking place?
- AS and A Level examinations: Monday 5 October to Friday 23 October.
- GCSE examinations: Monday 2 November to Monday 23 November.

Will all subjects available in summer 2020 be available in the autumn series?
All GCSE, AS and A Level and Core Maths subjects will be available, including legacy A Level Languages.
FSMQ will not be available in autumn 2020.
No, NEA will not be available with the exception of Art and Design.
For Art and Design, candidates will take a new externally set task, marked by OCR. They will not complete a portfolio. This is a change to the normal process where the set task would be marked by the centre and then moderated by OCR.

What is the modified question paper deadline for autumn 2020?
The deadline is 4 September 2020.
When will we receive our question papers?
We’re sending question papers out by DHL to arrive in the week before exams take place (apart from week 4 exams where it could be up to two weeks due to half-term). This means question papers will be sent by the following dates and will usually arrive the following day.
- 29 September – AS and A Level, Core Maths exams between 5 and 9 October
- 6 October – AS and A Level, Core Maths exams between 12 and 16 October
- 13 October – AS and A Level, Core Maths exams between 19 and 23 October
- 14 October – GCSE exams between 2 and 6 November
- 3 November – GCSE exams between 9 and 13 November
- 10 November – GCSE exams between 16 and 23 November
A Level Maths question papers will be sent separately to arrive approximately three working days before the exams. They will be sent by the following dates:
- 1 October – exams on 7 October
- 8 October – exams on 14 October
- 13 October – exams on 19 October

For Cambridge Nationals, the November 2020 series will be available as usual for moderated units only via postal and OCR Repository moderation. There will be no visiting moderation or examinations in the autumn.
In addition, we will be offering the moderated units for Information Technologies and Enterprise and Marketing units (they are not usually available in the November series). These will follow the same timelines as the other Cambridge Nationals moderated units.

Cambridge Nationals examinations will be available in the January 2021 series. We will also be offering Cambridge Nationals moderated units with postal and OCR Repository moderation – visiting moderation will not be available.

Will the yellow parcelforce label service be available for January 2021?
Yes, the yellow label service will be available for January 2021 with the exception of legacy ICT R002-R007 (as ICT no longer features on performance tables, it is not included in the scheme).
Cambridge Technicals moderated units will be available on-demand as normal. There will be no changes to the grading criteria for moderation in the autumn. Where we provide an assignment for a unit, there will be no changes to the assignments.
We will not be offering visiting moderation for Cambridge Technicals when centres return after the summer holidays. Instead we'll be providing remote moderation. We will provide more details about how this will work and when you will be able to arrange your moderation as soon as we have further information, which is likely to be during the summer holidays.
Cambridge Technicals examinations will be available in the January 2021 series. There will not be additional examinations in the autumn 2020 series.
