If you have students who were expecting to complete assessments between 20 March and 31 July 2020, we will work with you to provide a calculated result.
The window to provide grades to OCR will be between 29 June and 17 July.
In order to prepare for this:
- Please do not make any new Life and Living Skills claims on Interchange
- If you have already completed and internally assessed work ready to submit to OCR, these can be submitted by 24 June 2020 using the standard submission process, however, there is no requirement to do so. We will work with you to provide a calculated result if you cannot submit completed assessments in the usual way.
- We will not be accepting any further submissions using the standard process after 24 June, you must use the calculated result (centre assessment grade) process.
- Results will be published by 20 August 2020.
For centres in Northern Ireland, an additional opportunity to submit centre assessment grades will be made available in August, dates to be confirmed.
Centre Assessment Grade Process
-
Identify the units candidates were due to complete (or you were due to submit assessments for) between 20 March and 31 July 2020.
-
Download the Centre Assessment Grades: Head of Centre Declaration and the Centre Guidance on the Centre Assessment Grades process for summer 2020
-
Review evidence to support your centre assessment grades – see the guidance document for more details. The categories of evidence are:
A
Units already awarded to the candidate.
B
Centre-marked attempts at the live/practice assessments
C
Formative assessment results. Formative assessment is defined as assessment undertaken to check learning has taken place and assess progress towards the required level.
D
Any other work which the candidate has completed towards the qualification (such as work they have done in class or at home independently).
E
Candidate work demonstrating the skills needed for relevant units that has been completed in support of another qualification.
-
Create a claim on Interchange for each scheme you have entries for in the usual way and include all units you have judged as a pass for each candidate. The person within your centre that has reviewed the evidence should be listed as the centre assessor within the claim.
-
Complete the Head of Centre Declaration with the claim numbers and the types of evidence used
-
Send the Head of Centre Declaration to your Head of Centre to confirm the details and sign
-
Submit your claims on Interchange
-
Email the Head of Centre Declaration to vqprocessing@ocr.org.uk by 17 July.
