How GCSEs, AS & A levels will be awarded in summer 2020
Which qualifications does this apply to?
GCSEs, AS Levels, A Levels and Extended Project Qualifications (EPQ).
Core Maths, FSMQ and Entry Level Certificates (General Qualifications) will also follow the same process.
Which students does this apply to?
The process for summer 2020 was initially announced for students in Year 11 and above.
Following an update from Ofqual 5 May, we’re pleased to confirm that Year 10 students (and below) can also be issued with results this summer.
What’s the process?
Your school will give us your centre assessment grade which is the most likely grade you would have achieved if you had sat exams in a subject this summer and completed any non-exam assessment.
Your school will also give us a rank order of students within each grade for the subject, say at grade 5 in GCSE Maths or at grade B in A Level Biology.
When will this happen?
The deadline for your school to get this information to us is 12 June 2020.
How will my teachers decide my grade?
Your teachers will look at a full range of evidence. This could include non-exam assessment, homework, or mock exams, and any other records of your performance over the course of study.
That can include your performance on NEA even if it wasn’t completed and you won’t be asked to complete NEA work now as part of that evidence.
I have agreed reasonable adjustment or access arrangements. How will they calculate my grade?
Your teachers will consider what your likely grade would have been if you had sat an exam with these arrangements in place.
