Whilst students are completing their preparatory work teachers can give them advice and guidance. However, this should be of a general nature and not specific instructions on how to improve or develop their work.
During the controlled hours exam teachers must not give students any guidance or advice about their work.
They can give technical assistance which means helping students with specific pieces of equipment and or materials where appropriate and on request from the student. For example, there may be health and safety issues around using certain types of equipment or a student might request additional materials.
