A competitive event in skiing can be the candidate completing the same timed route as a peer, where they are competing against each other to record the fastest time down the run. Competitive situations include slalom, giant slalom, super-g or freestyle (ski-cross, moguls, park and pipe).
Indoor snow is suitable and can allow candidates to demonstrate all of the relevant advanced skills if a suitable route can be set up for candidates to compete on our demonstrate specific skills in isolation.
The demonstration of knowledge in indoor facilities is evidenced by candidates selecting the quickest path down a route and selecting the most efficient and effective skills and also ensuring they are following healthy and safety guidelines and the rules of the sport when competing.
The candidates log needs to include records of competitions the candidates have participated in – Venue/Time/Place – (photos/copies of awards/prizes etc can be included as supporting evidence).
