Centres can assess learners with disabilities as a performer, in a disability form of sports contained on the approved list. Centres may apply to amend the assessment criteria of approved activities via the activity adjustment process.
AS and A Level is coaching or performance.
All skills criteria are contained within the Guide to NEA.
All activities are broken down into three parts – core skills, advanced skills and decision making.
All activities are marked using the one grid – found in section 2b.3 of the Guide to NEA .
Coaching is marked using the grid in section 2c.1 of the Guide to NEA. Coaching is not available as an option for GCSE.
The list of allowed sports is prescribed by the DfE and is the same for all awarding bodies. If you still have any concerns regarding this list should contact the DfE.
