The June 2019 series highlighted that many students are answering 25 mark questions as though they were worth 50. In the exam, students have roughly half an hour for the 25 mark questions, minus planning and thinking time – we are not expecting the same amount of cases or the same amount of writing.
The key skills students need to practise are being selective and thinking on their feet. Memorising huge numbers of cases and trying to include them all in an answer isn’t the most effective way to gain marks.
