We told you in December 2020 that students are allowed to reduce the assessment for one moderated unit for Cambridge Nationals and one or more moderated units for Cambridge Technicals 2012 and 2016. The arrangements for how you make use of this adaptation depend on when your students will certificate (complete the qualification).
For students certificating in summer 2022
Your students are eligible for a unit level teacher assessed grade for any assessments which they would have planned to take this year (doing the assessment by 31 August 2021). You can supply unit teacher assessed grades between 27 September to 8 October 2021 for:
- Units you planned to take in 2020/21, before assessments were cancelled.
- Units where you had originally planned to take the assessment by 31 August 2021 but then decided to reduce the unit assessment as part of the original adaptations published in December 2020.
For Cambridge Nationals, you will need an entry in the June 2021 series for the units you would have planned to take by 31 August 2021. If you have not yet made an entry for the unit not being assessed, please email us at entries@ocr.org.uk.
For Cambridge Technicals, you do not make entries for moderated units. However, please ensure you have a qualification entry (registration).
FAQs
Can we have unit TAGs and a reduction in assessment?
A TAG can be used for any assessment that was planned to be taken before 31 August 2021 and couldn’t be.
This includes units that you planned to not take the assessment in 2020/21 after we sent out our announcements about reduction in assessment. You will supply a unit level TAG for it in addition to unit TAGs for any other units planned for 2020/21. We will provide an update on adaptations for 2022 as soon as we can.
If the unit where assessment is being reduced was planned for 2021/22, this is separate to the unit TAG arrangements for the units intended for this year, more information can be found here.
