The Department for Education (DfE) publishes the latest guidance on secondary accountability measures. Our Level 3 FSMQ: Additional Mathematics (6993) may contribute to Progress 8, as outlined in the document referenced above—see page 73 for updated points scores for Free Standing Maths Qualifications.
Please note: as stated on page 15 of the same document, 'FSMQ will only count in an ‘open’ slot if a pupil has not taken an EBacc maths qualification.' This means a candidate’s FSMQ result will only be included in Attainment 8 or Progress 8 if they have not taken GCSE or AS Level Mathematics.
While FSMQ is unlikely to be included in performance tables for most students under current measures, its value lies in enhancing GCSE Maths performance—which is double-weighted in Progress 8—and in preparing students for AS or A Level Mathematics.
